Chhattisgarh Mitwa Sankalp Samitee – A Step Towards Equality And Dignity Like every human being, a transgender person also has dreams—to study, work, become independent, find love, build a family, and live with dignity. Being transgender does not limit a person’s ability, but lack of opportunities often makes their journey much harder. With this understanding, Chhattisgarh Mitwa Sankalp Samitee was established on 11 November 2009. Our purpose is not just to provide support, but to create opportunities and systems where transgender persons can grow and live their lives just like any other boy or girl—with equal rights, acceptance, and dignity. From education, employment, healthcare and skill development to competitive exams, sports, culture, marriage and family acceptance, we work across different aspects of life. We want transgender persons to move beyond traditional livelihoods and have opportunities to join government and corporate sectors, start businesses, pursue education, participate in sports, and showcase their talents. We also continuously engage with the government and policymakers to ensure that the voices and needs of transgender communities are reflected in laws, policies and welfare systems. We work towards more inclusive healthcare, education, employment and social security. Over the years, many things have changed. Transgender persons are studying, working in government and corporate sectors, joining the police, participating in sports and cultural platforms, and making their own choices in life. Yet, there is still much more to do. Our dream is simple—a society where transgender persons do not have to hide who they are, but can live openly with their identity, dignity, equal opportunities and freedom. This is the vision and commitment of Chhattisgarh Mitwa Sankalp Samitee.
